These went down a treat the first time we made them in our house. I am such a believer in the power of food on our health and trying to make things fun and enjoyable to make. I love throwing these together and seeing how it turns out, which is exactly what i did with these little beauties.

I simply added anything I know is high in vitamin C, antioxidants and helps with digestive health. They are super easy to make, fun and also costs no where near as much as the pre made shop ones so it’s a win win from me 😎

Ingredients – I use roughly the same quantity for all ingredients and then just play around with adding more of a certain thing til i get the taste i think. Remember that grapefruit and lemon is very bitter so using carrots and orange to sweeten is great.

  • Lemons and limes
  • Grapefruit
  • Orange
  • Ginger
  • Carrot
  • Turmeric (1 small teaspoon
  • A pinch of pepper (to activate the turmeric)

Method

  • Chop all ingredients up to small chucks
  • Pop them all into a blender and add the turmeric and pepper
  • Add some water (around half a cup)
  • Blend until a very smooth consistency
  • You then want to sleeve the mix so you are left with a very smooth thin liquid
  • Save the bits in the sleeve (It looks a little like baby food) you can also add this to a cube tray and freeze. You can then use these in smoothies (no food waste here 🙂 )
  • The remaining smooth liquid is what you will use for your daily shot
  • Pour the liquid into ice cube trays (I use soft one as easier to get them out)
  • Pop them into the freezer
  • Each morning take one out, pop it into a glass and pour some boiling water over it
  • The cube will dissolve and create an easy morning shot to enjoy
