What inspired you to become a colonic hydrotherapist?

My journey into colonic hydrotherapy began with my own struggles with gut health, particularly severe bloating and constipation. I was often told by my GP that it was IBS but never received clear advice on why my bowels didn’t move or how to help. There were days when I wouldn’t go at all, leaving me looking six months pregnant. After seeking private medical care, I was tested for SIBO, a condition that commonly leads to constipation. Following a couple of rounds of medication to treat SIBO, I started to feel better; however, I still felt run down, tired, and sluggish. I accepted this as just being who I was.

I began having colonic treatments for years, which significantly alleviated my symptoms. During lockdown, I finally had the headspace to slow down and listen to my body, which made me realize just how much stress was impacting my gut health. With the enforced downtime, I worked on quieting my negative, chatty mind, and to my surprise, all my symptoms began to fade. I hadn’t changed anything except for not being consumed by stress, which led me to delve deeper into the mind-gut connection—and my obsession grew. I wanted everyone to feel good and have epic poos (yes, I said it!).

These personal experiences guided me to help others facing similar challenges, revealing the profound impact that proper digestive health can have on overall well-being. This realization motivated me to establish The Good Gut Clinic. With a background in health and wellness, I had the ability to qualify as a colonic hydrotherapist and opened the clinic in January 2022.

How would you describe your approach to colonic hydrotherapy?

My approach to colonic hydrotherapy is holistic and client-centered. I believe in treating not just the symptoms but also addressing the underlying factors that contribute to digestive issues. I take the time to understand each client’s unique situation and incorporate dietary advice and stress management techniques along with the hydrotherapy itself. I also understand how daunting a first treatment can be, so I always make it a priority to explain everything in detail to ensure clients feel comfortable and informed. While the colonic hydrotherapy treatment can provide significant relief, my big passion lies in what clients do outside of the treatment room. It’s essential to address the lifestyle factors that may be contributing to their issues for lasting improvement. Creating a calm and supportive environment is key, as I want my clients to feel at ease throughout the process.

What do you enjoy most about working in this field?

What I enjoy most about being a colonic hydrotherapist is witnessing the transformative journeys of my clients. Hearing them say they feel great, with their bowels functioning better and experiencing less bloating or even none at all, brings me immense joy. I can relate deeply to clients who feel uncomfortable and lost in their bodies, so when I see them start to gain confidence and feel more at ease within their own skin, it feels truly amazing. Building trusting relationships and being part of their healing process is incredibly fulfilling and motivates me every day.

What can clients expect during their treatment with you?

The most important aspect of a colonic hydrotherapy session is creating a safe and comfortable environment for my clients. I truly want them to feel relaxed and unafraid to ask questions or open up about their concerns. When clients feel safe, it allows them to let go, which significantly enhances the effectiveness of the treatment. This sense of trust and openness fosters a deeper connection, enabling me to provide the best possible care tailored to their needs.

Other treatments you would like to offer soon?

My primary focus is colonic hydrotherapy and managing The Good Gut Clinic. I want every client who walks through our doors, whether they’re booking with me or one of the other practitioners to have the best possible experience. I am truly passionate about helping people poop better because life is too short to be uncomfortable and self-conscious about gut issues. I aim to cultivate an atmosphere that encourages clients to return, whether for a another colonic or an IV infusion or simply to relax in our new chillout area (coming soon). We have exciting plans in the works to expand our services, my goal is to ensure that everything runs smoothly so that you receive the exceptional care and experience you deserve.

What inspired you to become a colonic hydrotherapist?

I set up Olympian Wellness Clinic last year with the aim to offer diagnostic tests and support people with nutritional supplements delivered intramuscularly (IM administration) or intravenously (IV infusions). The majority of clients I met had unaddressed gastrointestinal issues. Having had colon hydrotherapy myself for years, I valued the importance of good gut health. I knew I could help people by offering this treatment, like I was helped many years ago. I had my first session when I was 23 years old. Back then I had so many issues with my digestive system, I can’t even count them. Colon hydrotherapy, in combination with lifestyle changes, improved my overall health so much. My previous career was in the medical industry where I sold medical equipment in operating theatres. I worked for years with upper GI and colorectal surgeons. I have seen first-hand the effect of unaddressed GI issues over time. When the opportunity came along to play a role in helping to improve someone else’s health and quality of life, I couldn’t reject it.

How would you describe your approach to Colonic Hydrotherapy?

My approach is entirely client-centered, focusing on comfort, education, and achieving optimal results for every individual.

Whilst Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle and relaxing procedure , I recognise that for first-time clients, the experience can feel intimidating or nerve-wracking.

For nervous clients, I specifically allocate extra time at the start to thoroughly explain every detail of the process, ensuring they feel completely comfortable and ready to confidently begin the treatment. Even for my experienced clients, I explain every step of the way, making the process transparent and predictable.

Creating a relaxed environment is crucial, not just for your peace of mind, but because a relaxed body allows the treatment to be far more effective.

If needed, I guide clients through simple relaxation techniques, such as closing their eyes and focusing on their breath. This helps activate your parasympathetic nervous system—the body’s ‘rest and digest’ state—which is essential for the colon to release waste effectively.

I encourage my clients to communicate openly about how you are feeling at all times. This constant feedback allows me to make real-time adjustments to the pressure and flow, ensuring your comfort and maximizing the outcomes of the session

What do you enjoy most about working in this field?

I find my greatest reward in this field through two distinct but equally impactful areas: the personal connections and the immediate transformations I witness. I genuinely enjoy meeting my clients, feeling that every person I treat offers a unique perspective or lesson, which has made this professional journey incredibly worthwhile. Furthermore, the satisfaction I feel watching clients immediately experience physical and mental relief at the end of a session leaving lighter, clearer, and more energised is truely rewarding.

What can clients expect during their treatment with you?

My clients can expect a highly personalised, comfortable, and educational experience centered on relaxation and open communication. My priority is creating a calm, welcoming environment so both new and returning clients feel completely at ease, making sure they are comfortable before, during, and after the session. This comfort is achieved through a client-centered approach: for nervous clients, I allow extra time to explain every detail; for all clients, I explain every step of the process and encourage ongoing feedback so I can make real-time adjustments to ensure the best results. I adapt to their needs, whether they relax with conversation or prefer quiet guidance, often encouraging techniques like focusing on breathing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system

which is essential for effective colon cleansing and maximizing the therapeutic outcome.

Other treatments you offer or would like to offer soon?

My main focus is on diagnostics, as testing offers invaluable information, empowering clients to make informed decisions about their health rather than ‘shooting in the dark’ trying to fix what is wrong. Currently, I offer IV infusions and intramuscular (IM) administration of vitamins for supplemental support (we do not treat or cure any conditions). I also provide a range of diagnostic services, including food sensitivity tests, gut microbiome testing, phlebotomy (blood draw), and general blood tests. Looking ahead, I will soon be offering personalised gut health plans specifically tailored for women experiencing peri-menopause and menopause, as well as educational workshops on gut health during these life stages.

Apart from my long-standing professional experience in other areas of healthcare, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science. Subjects I studied for this degree include microbiology, haematology, immunology, parasitology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, mycology and clinical chemistry. My thesis was on stem cells. I also hold a Master’s in Science obtained by the University of Bristol on StemCells and Regeneration. Subjects I studied include neurodegenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and Huddington’s disease, as well as diabetes and  cardiovascular disease.y thesis was on Tissues Regeneration for Congenital Cardiovascular disease. My thesis was a review research paper thelat was later published on a medical journal.  I currently study for my level 5 professional diploma in Menopause Health and Gut Restoration.
